Despite the many competing hypotheses concerning the Egyptian pyramids, practically everyone accepts that they were built with construction blocks. However, not everyone agrees on how this was accomplished. Some people claim that the rocks for the pyramids were cut by hand using copper chisels found nearby. Others believe the bricks were dragged from afar. But, like with so much of the pyramids’ history, the real reality is shrouded in obscurity. Little did the historians of the period realize that a new finding would soon disprove their previous theories.

Another of the numerous mysteries surrounding the pyramids’ construction is the substance employed to hold the stone bricks together. Archaeologists have analyzed the chemical composition of the mortar, but no one has been able to determine what this material is. Despite the remaining mystery, it’s apparent that the mixture works because the pyramids are still standing after millennia.
