Over the years, millions of individuals have attempted to uncover the enigma of Giza’s pyramids. And, while no one knows for certain how they were created, who built them, or why, there have been numerous ideas claiming to address these questions. As with any long-standing archaeological mystery, the hypotheses are numerous and contradictory, and no one can be certain. Biblical Tradition
The first known hypothesis about the pyramids’ building dates back to Biblical times. Because the book of Exodus mentions the ancient Israelites being slaves in Egypt, they are frequently associated with the forced labor that many believe provided much of the manpower for the pyramids’ construction. However, not everyone agrees with this theory. Many historians believe the pyramids were erected in the 26th century BC, but the Israelites were considered to have been enslaved many thousand years later, in the 13th century BC.
