The purpose of the vacuum immediately became the primary focus of Egyptologists’ inquiry. Some theorists hypothesized that the massive chasm was simply a platform for the builders to move from one room to the next. Another theory was that the vacuum served as a barrier between the pharaoh’s rooms and those of his queen(s). We still don’t know why this massive void was produced, what’s inside it, or whether it’s one large area or multiple smaller ones. Scientists and laypeople alike, however, remain enthralled by the Great Pyramid’s unfathomable secrets.

The Secrets Within
Despite being erected so long ago, the Great Pyramid was quite advanced. The researchers recently discovered three rooms built within the pyramid’s framework, the lowest of which is embedded in bedrock. The king and queen’s rooms were just above that, surrounded by the outside. Inside the pyramids, there are two mortuary houses that honor the Pharaoh. Another pyramid is present, surrounded by tombs, but there are many others that require further investigation.
