Hiding It
What Thomas didn’t realize was that Madeline was deteriorating while he was at work in the hospital. She had no idea what had caused her exhaustion and migraines, but it was all too much for her. Despite his best efforts, Thomas had failed to detect Madeline’s deteriorating condition. Then one day, he heard a crash in the other room and jumped out of his seat. He hoped and prayed that it wasn’t what he thought it was, but he’d soon find out how cruel life can be.
Another Goodbye

He sat there for a few hours, barely moving, barely thinking. This was the final straw, and Thomas’ pleasant demeanor altered drastically that day.
