Coming Back In
Sarah was back in the hospital room two hours later, and Thomas was called in to check on his new patient. When he stepped in, he noticed she was paler than the previous time he saw her, and her stomach had grown larger. She needed assistance right away. He did tests and made small chat while checking her vitals. Sarah only had approximately a month left of her pregnancy, but she required a lot of vitamins and nutrients. Thomas took some notes and called a nurse to inform her of the situation. He promised himself that he would wait until she was feeling better before asking her what he truly wanted to know.

Thomas suggested Sarah stay in the hospital for a few days while hooked up to an IV to restore her nutrients. Color had returned to her cheeks by the end of the third day, and she appeared stronger. Thomas came back in to see if her condition had improved. When he realized everything had happened, he proceeded to quiz her about her circumstances. “Would this father you mentioned in your note be willing to come here and help you through this?” “I believe you’ll be able to get through your last month of pregnancy more easily,” he remarked. Her response, however, astounded him.
