They Asked Their Parents
Both Krysten and Chris asked their parents whether they wanted to speak at the wedding. All they cared about was whether or not they should be given a few minutes to say a few things. Krysten was taken aback when her father enthusiastically accepted an invitation to give a toast at the wedding. The prospect of speaking into the microphone clearly piqued his interest. The bride was overjoyed by his remark, relieved that her father would be attending the wedding.

The planning continued over the next two weeks. Because that aspect of the ceremony was previously scheduled, Krysten and Chris mostly forgot about the planned remarks. They couldn’t totally forget the remarks, though, because Krysten’s father kept bringing them up. He kept telling his daughter and her fiancé that he needed to talk for a few minutes before the first dance. They didn’t understand why he was so adamant about it.
