Viva Las Vegas
Raquel’s singing career led her to the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel in 1973. For several years, the starlet’s one-woman musical performance was a big success. Given that a Las Vegas show was new ground for Raquel, one could understand if she had reservations about her new endeavor. The singer/actress, on the other hand, remarked that she was “excited but not nervous” to add a Sin City show to her portfolio.
Broadway Beauty
Raquel made her Broadway debut in the 1995 production of Victor/Victoria, having already gained experience onstage. Originally, Julie Andrews was cast in the starring role, but Raquel was picked to replace her after the Sound of Music star fell ill. Given the play’s gender-bending idea, Raquel had a rare opportunity to exhibit her talent without relying on her voluptuous shape, which was mostly hidden for the duration of the performance.
