Entertainment
Raquel Welch, like the previous era’s bombshell Marilyn Monroe, came overseas to entertain US troops. Welch went to Vietnam with Bob Hope, a British-American comedian and actor. One of Welch and Hope’s shows for US servicemen can be seen in Bob Hope’s 1967 Christmas Special. Welch took the stage with her signature bouffant hairstyle to thunderous acclaim. The actress performed “Different Drum” and danced along in front of a brass band while wearing knee-high white boots and a blue little skirt.
