The dog
Jamie pushed against the entrance door, and it began to gradually open. He exclaimed, “Lauren! ” as he saw her. A puppy came racing up to him and smelled his feet as it approached. Jamie was able to identify the dog because his daughter had drawn a picture of it and emailed it to him when he was stationed in Iraq. He was most certainly in the right house, but he couldn’t find his daughter anywhere.

“What’s up, Lauren?!” He called her name once again. “Stacy!” When he entered the living room, he was taken aback to find a stranger seated on the couch next to his wife and daughter. It wasn’t his friend Ben because Ben was elsewhere when the knock came at the door. Not at all; rather, this was a different individual, a bald man. Is this the same person depicted in the drawing?
