We assume it has something to do with how nasty it seems on the television screen. Furthermore, it will prevent audience members from singing along to pop hits when Ellen takes the stage.

You must remain in line if you want to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The ticket specifies the time you should arrive for check-in. You should be aware that each filming usually involves more than 300 persons. After everyone has checked in, there will be a few announcements before the guests form lines to enter the stage. As you may expect, this will take some time!
