Lehner’s Research
Lehner collaborated closely with some of the more conventional theorists, such as Verner and Romer, as well as Tallet on his astounding current discoveries. Lehner and his team put together one of the most extensive studies ever to address the questions surrounding the pyramids’ construction. Unlike Verner, Lehner did not believe the pyramids required 100,000 men to construct. His estimates range between 15,000 to 40,000. Lehner began his research out of pure curiosity and had no idea how influential it would become.

A New Era
Lehner and Tallet’s discoveries revealed what had previously been only speculation for millennia. We now knew for certain that the pyramids were constructed by a group of professional craftsmen and engineers directed by Ankh-haf. The antique papyrus also allowed scholars to better understand how the ancient inhabitants transported the hefty limestone that served as the foundation for the massive constructions. The pyramids and their construction had been buried in mystery for millennia, so it was an extraordinary period for the Ancient Egypt research community. But there were still many mysteries concerning the pyramids.
