Chalmers University researchers claim that “there hasn’t been a single study that has shown negative health effects” of whole grains on diabetes. These same researchers discovered in 2018 that whole wheat lowers the risk of diabetes. Those who consumed 50 grams of carbohydrates per day (one bowl of cereal or one slice of bread) had a 22% – 34% decreased risk of getting diabetes. So don’t shy away from whole-grain bread.
