Becoming Obsessed
Brianna was becoming preoccupied with social media. She’d play with the kids in the afternoons, but once they were in bed, she couldn’t stop scrolling through her phone, reading comments and reacting to trolls. Richard was becoming concerned about her. He advised her to remain online and disregard the abusive messages. She made it through a week with her head clearer than it had been in months. But the cleanse couldn’t endure forever. The proud mother felt she couldn’t just sit back and let these people spread lies about her lovely child. She had no choice but to fight back.
Logging In
Brianna took her phone to the restroom once the week was up and signed into her Facebook account. It buzzed incessantly, and she turned off the water so Richard wouldn’t see what she was doing. She spotted a lot from a woman who looked familiar among the thousands of messages. Brianna wasn’t sure, but she thought she recognized her. The woman was sending love and well wishes to the entire family and sent a link encouraging her to join a community. Brianna hesitantly clicked on the link since she had learned to distrust the individuals she encountered online. She had no idea what she was in for.
