Unique Baby
Bobby and Brianna began to mend as the days passed. They were returned to the maternity ward. Brianna noticed there that people weren’t embarrassed to express their surprise at her son’s odd appearance. The baby had a tuft of white hair in the center of his head, as well as a huge white mark on his forehead. It stood out against his dark skin. The other mothers stared openly at Bobby and repeatedly asked Brianna what was wrong with him.

It wasn’t long before rumors began to circulate. People discovered what had happened to Brianna on the day she gave birth. They were persuaded that Bobby had a congenital defect caused by the lightning hit. Could the infant have been struck by lightning while still in the womb? Brianna was heartbroken. She couldn’t take hearing people gossip about her and her kid, and some of the statements she overheard shocked her. People seemed to believe Bobby’s white markings were a sign of evil or a divine punishment. How could they be so nasty to a helpless baby? Would they attempt to harm him?
