Jane Powell – Born in 1929
Jane Powell began dance lessons when she was just two years old. When she was just five years old, she relocated to Oakland, California with her parents in the hopes of being found. When that failed, Powell began to learn to sing and eventually secured a deal with MGM. Her career officially began in 1944, and she has had a good career ever since. Powell was most recently seen on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” although she previously worked on Broadway. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades and recognitions, including a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Bill Cobbs – Born in 1934
Wilbert Francisco Cobbs, better known as Bill Cobbs, is a well-known actor. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and his local fans maintain a particular place in his heart. Cobbs, unlike most actors, did not pursue acting until he was considerably older. He landed his first role when he was 36 years old. Cobbs, who has been in films such as “One Tree Hill,” “Oz the Great and Powerful,” and “Night at the Museum,” is still working today. He is also an active philanthropist, having given to organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The United Negro College Fund.
