It may appear to some that Tom Cruise was treated unfairly throughout the divorce. Even though Katie Holmes has exclusive custody and a wonderful bond with their daughter, it is said that he no longer sees Suri and has grown distant from her. But Katie’s success here is solely attributable to her decision to put their child first. That’s not to say that Tom doesn’t love his daughter as much as Katie does; all that matters to the mother is providing Suri with a “stable, innocent childhood.” After all, “there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.” But after the split, he doesn’t appear to have been as committed to her.

It seems that the father and daughter would converse via phone calls, video chats, and texts for a while. The girl was able to maintain her contact with her father, even if the circumstances weren’t perfect. Regretfully, it is reported that this correspondence finally ceased. As per In Touch Weekly, the couple had not communicated for a number of years by 2016. According to a source, Tom’s daughter was no longer persuaded by his justifications for his constant absence. It appears that she didn’t think his movie obligations were the true issue.
