What do you reply when someone tells you that their dog is named after you? This New York Rangers fan appeared to be attempting to get the attention of hockey player Sean Avery by displaying a red, white, and blue placard. We think he should be flattered; after all, she presumably loves her dog, but it’s still an unusual way to support someone at a sporting event.

We have no idea what this fan was thinking when he pulled out a giant placard that said “golf is fun too” during a hockey game. We’re not debating; golf can be a pleasant activity, but he’s nowhere near a putting green, and he appears to have mixed up his sports. Because it’s in such a prominent location for hockey players to view, the sign is bound to generate some misunderstanding on the ice.
