Cooling cooked potatoes increase the amount of resistant starch they contain. According to a study, continuously cooling and reheating potatoes boosts their hunger-suppressing effect. In a study that examined the ability of 38 foods to satiate hunger, boiling potatoes came out on top. Boiling potatoes were the most filling of the items examined; however, fried potato chips were found to be three times less filling.
