In order to revitalize the company and improve its e-commerce revenue, Destination Maternity Corp will decrease its retail presence. Closures that take place throughout the year will affect about 42 to 67 stores. Those shutdowns focus on reducing retail costs and improving the online appearance of the business. The business plans to open smaller stores with “reduced square footage to increase productivity,” reports USA Today.

Back in 2018, Beauty Brands declared plans to close 25 outlets. The company has reduced its corporate employees and filed a bankruptcy request in January. It claimed that when it filed for bankruptcy, the firm was “a predominantly brick and mortar retailer” who had suffered from the growth in operating expenses.
