Talley recognized that he needed additional help to undertake this project. His stepfather played a significant role in the process by helping him navigate power tools and even crawling beneath the bus to remove bolts. In addition to his stepfather, Talley’s friends provided assistance and advice. When Talley removed the seats, a friendly couple arrived to collect them and transport them to the scrap metal yard, which kept him motivated and reassured him that he wasn’t working alone.

Finding Treasures From The Past
Talley discovered several hidden riches when stripping the inside of the bus. He came uncovered a letter that said “kick me,” which was most likely used as a joke while the bus was in service. If you’ve ever traveled on a yellow school bus, you’ll recall the sound of screaming children and grownups arguing. Those weren’t the nicest recollections, but Talley was sweeping them away and breathing fresh life into the bus. He was building new memories along the way, and when he was through, the bus would look nothing like it had before.
