Willie Mays – Age 90
Willie Mays was once a name to fear in Major League Baseball. After high school, he signed with the New York/San Francisco Giants and was named Rookie of the Year in his first season. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army, although he later returned to baseball. He remained with the Giants until 1972, although he finished his career with a one-year stint with the New York Mets. Mays remained engaged with the organization after retiring because he became their hitting instructor, general manager, and president’s special assistant. In 2015, he was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former US President Barack Obama.
Tina Turner – Age 81
Tina Turner considers herself to be the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Her career skyrocketed in the late 1950s when she joined Ike Turner’s Kings of Rhythm. She and Ike established a combo that became a huge sensation, and they even married in 1962. She decided to focus on her solo career after their divorce in 1978. With her multi-platinum album ‘Private Dancer,’ she made an unforgettable comeback, and she gave people classics like ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’ and ‘The Best.’ Turner has not toured since 2009, and a self-titled documentary film on her will be released in 2021.
