6. If you don’t like turbulence, book an early morning flight
Pros: A more relaxing flight
What you need: A morning flight
Cost: Free
One of the worst aspects of flying that nobody really appreciates is turbulence. An hours-long, nerve-wracking experience is not going to help anyone’s anxieties. Some even need to purchase pricey medications to get through it. There are a few things you can do to reduce your odds of experiencing it, but sometimes it’s just unavoidable. Since turbulence usually happens in the afternoon, scheduling a flight for early in the morning may result in a more comfortable journey. While it won’t completely guarantee that it won’t happen, it will decrease the likelihood and hopefully let you enjoy that Netflix movie you downloaded in peace.
7. Bring your own spare ziploc bags
Pros: Traveling with liquids, keeping stuff safe
What you need: Ziploc bags
Cost: $4*
It might not occur to you to dash into the kitchen and retrieve the pack of Ziploc bags when you’re preparing for a trip. Having said that, there are a number of reasons why packing extra space for them in your bag is a really excellent idea. You may find yourself having to make a last-minute purchase at the airport even if you have already packed all of your liquids. Conversely, if you intend to visit a beach, placing your electronics inside a clear bag will shield them from damage while you use them. If you don’t already have any, you may get them for a reasonable price at places like Walmart.
