When the proprietor of a zoo in the area heard about the discovery of the three tiger cubs, he made haste to get to the facility where they were being cared for as soon as he could. He obviously detected a window of opportunity, as evidenced by the fact that he has already reached an agreement with the rescue center to purchase the tiger cubs from them.

This was not something that a reputable animal rescue organization would do in the normal course of business, but the amount of money that the owner of the Zoo was offering was too enticing to refuse. And at this point, the zookeeper wished to provide the same opportunity to the hikers. He wanted to bribe them into quiet so that they would not talk to anyone else about where they had found the tiger cubs.
