The messages that threatened the entire Cooper family if they didn’t do what Lucy requested were the worst. And Lucy’s demands were so horrifying that Brianna’s blood ran cold. Bobby was to be exorcised by the organization. They concluded that the infant was possessed by the devil as a result of the lightning strike and his white marks, and that the only way to free him from dark influences was to bring him to the church and drive the evil spirits out. Lucy warned that if the Coopers refused, they would pay the price.

Brianna printed out pages and pages of hate messages and delivered them to the police. She filed a harassment complaint against Lucy and her organization. She realized now that they had planned to demand the exorcism all along, which was why they had contacted her in the first place. Brianna felt disgusted that she had fallen for their ruse. She needed to find a way to recover.
