Today, the Grand Canyon is regarded as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, alongside the Pyramids of Giza and the Taj Mahal. As a result of floods and spring melts during the last ice age, geologists believe it reached a depth that is around 1.2 million years ago that is comparable to today’s depth. The canyon was also the site of Krill’s astonishing discovery, which occurred much more recently in the canyon.

The Grand Canyon, on the other hand, is far from being a complete phenomenon. As you can see, the Colorado River is still eroding the plateau today, slowly removing layer after layer of rock as it flows through the region. As a result, the natural marvel may get even deeper and wider in the future — although no one can predict with certainty how much it will expand and deepen.
