Bob Barker – Born in 1923

Bob Barker was born in Washington in 1923 and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He then attended college while working part-time in radio. In 1950, he moved to California to seek a career in broadcasting, where he landed a job hosting a self-titled radio show. Barker was invited to anchor “Truth or Consequences,” a game show that aired for 19 years until 1975. His career took off, though, when he started hosting the CBS game program “The Price Is Right” in 1972. Barker retired from the show in 2007. His distinguished career extended five decades.

Johnny Mathis – Born in 1935

Johnny Mathis, the legendary vocalist, was born in Texas in 1935. With the release of his debut album in his early twenties, he launched his singing career. Since then, the artist has topped the charts with some of his most recognized songs, including “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late.” Mathis is estimated to be worth $400 million.
