This is why he devised the concept of his tomb. To keep his tomb safe, Qin Shi Huang had local craftsmen create him an entire army of terracotta soldiers. The emperor was buried in 210 BCE. He wasn’t the only one. They did, after all, bury his army of almost 8,000 statues to stand watch!
