Willie Mays
On September 29, 1954, at the World Series, Wille Mays, a 12-time Gold Glove winner, made one of his finest defensive plays in Game 1 of the 1954 World Series. The athlete caught a deep fly ball to centerfield while running the best to get the ball to help the Giants win with a score of 5-2. Mays had won the NL MVP award that season, and Mays carried the Giants to get the championship title from the Cleveland Indians.
Chuck Bednarik And Frank Gifford
On November 20, 1960, during the Eagles-Giants match at Yankee Stadium, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Chuck Bednarik celebrated when the linebacker took down the New York Giants running back Frank Gifford. After the hit that Chuck had made, Gifford was forced to break from football because of its injury.
