Alarming Scenes Below
Violet cast a downward glance and spotted frantic activity on the deck of the Aurora. Figures moved quickly, lights flashed frantically, and shadows danced. She was too high to see specifics, but she could see the clear indications of mayhem below. She wanted she could help or, at the very least, understand what was causing the problem as her heart raced. As she watched the chaos develop below her, she had a pain of powerlessness.

Unmanned Movement
A jet from the Aurora’s fleet started to taxi in the middle of the chaos. It moved erratically and without the accuracy of a skilled pilot. The airplane suddenly accelerated forward, its engines roaring furiously as it rose from the deck, shocking Violet. No one was seen in the cockpit, and the jet appeared to maneuver on its own. She was astounded by its unexpected, illegal takeoff.
