He was done listening, he thought. While leaving his childhood home, he saw strangers entering the building. He observed as a steady stream of young, appealing people walked up the driveway. His brothers were already having a party even though the dirt on his father’s grave wasn’t yet completely dried. Tommy regretted his action as soon as he entered the room to reprimand them.

From the top of the stairs, one of his brothers yelled at him to leave their home after spotting him. The second brother, who was amusing the visitors, overheard the uproar.
