The Skylar’s Law Has Since Been Passed
It took her parents some time to submit a missing person’s report once they learned Skylar had not returned home. After all, nothing indicated a kidnapping. In fact, when the little child snuck out at night, it resembled a runaway case more than anything else. Skylar’s Law was enacted with the support of the Neese couple.

It mandates the state to issue Amber Alerts for missing children, even if they are not suspected of being kidnapped. Skylar Neese might still be alive if this law had been in effect. It is too late now, but we are confident that this will benefit other children in the future!
