The following day, around 5:00 PM, John left for Sarah’s place of employment. He awaited her arrival outside before giving her a substantial arrangement of flowers. Sarah was surprised because she hadn’t anticipated John’s unexpected appearance. She didn’t appear as content, though, as John had hoped.

John helped Sarah get into a taxi after shaking off his apprehension. So that Sarah wouldn’t find out where they were heading, he gave the driver the address on a note. He planned to blindfold her when they were almost there. At first, Sarah balked, but after some convincing, she agreed to let him put the blindfold on.
