Few casting decisions are as odd as Gary Oldman’s choice for Tiptoes. He portrayed a dwarf or small person, and the film featured many dwarf performers, including Peter Dinklage. However, having a man of normal stature play the major dwarf part raised some concerns. It felt like a slap in the face, given that the film was about the rights of little people.
