Now it’s time to talk about the real stuff. She wants to know if she has a place of her own yet. She’s not sure if she went to college in the end. For the time being, she aspires to be a lawyer. She had no idea whether or not this would be possible. She just wanted to let her future self know that she had a past self. The next thing she wrote, however, was the most important.

She wanted her kids to understand that she was older than the iPad. She decided to include a drawing of the iPad in this envelope because she knew they would be curious and question everything, just like her. This was yet another way in which she made her parents laugh uncontrollably. When she wrote things like that, they knew she was joking. But she was dead serious with her last sentence.
