The Ancient Greeks also believed that the pyramids were built with forced labor. For many years, the idea that slaves were the primary source of manpower in the construction of the pyramids was widely believed, thanks in large part to the works of Ancient Greek historians such as Diodorus Siculus and Herodotus. Despite the many centuries that have gone, many of the Greek beliefs are still considered some of the most likely solutions for the pyramid riddle.

Herodotus
In the fifth century BC, the Ancient Greek historian Herodotus published a book in which he discussed his beliefs about the construction of Egypt’s pyramids. This was about 1,600 years after the massive structures were completed, and many of the beliefs expressed in this book are still widely held today. However, some historians began to ask if Herodotus’ point of view was prejudiced or one-sided, ignoring numerous different points of view seeking to explain the secrets of the pyramids. Despite Herodotus’ significant contribution, many questions remained unresolved.
