Royal Stature
The Great Pyramid was much more than just a king’s tomb. It was an expression of power held by some people in ancient Egypt. Such a massive structure could only be built by someone incredibly powerful. The Great Pyramid is approximately 450 feet tall, with each side at the base being 755.75 feet in length. Despite the pyramids’ remarkable size and worldwide attraction, there has always been a great deal we don’t know about them – but that was about to change with the announcement of a major discovery.

Shrinking Sands of Time
The stones used to construct the pyramids are massive and heavy, and they have been around for much of recorded human history. Despite its longevity, there is evidence that the pyramids have shrunk slightly throughout the millennia. This is due to natural erosion rather than man-made devastation. Rains have left their mark on the Great Pyramid of Giza, which has shrunk by about thirty feet – initially 481 feet tall, the structure now stands at around 455 feet.
