The Highlands Eat’n Park site in the Ohio Valley closed permanently on Monday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m., according to Courtney Capara, an Eat’n Park Restaurants spokesman. Capara expressed gratitude to the team members for their efforts to the Wheeling community. Despite the painful decision, employees were offered opportunities at other Eat’n Park Hospitality Group locations. Capara thanked visitors for their meals and memories, and invited them to visit the nearby St. Clairsville, Ohio, restaurant for more smiles and friendliness.

As of January 2024, the Wahlburgers in Ross Township’s North Hills will be permanently closed. The eatery at The Block Northway announced its closure via Facebook without specifying the reason. They invited visitors to their Robinson Mall branch as a way of thanking employees and customers. The burger joint shuttered and thanked customers for cleaning off the food. Wahlburgers, founded by chef Paul Wahlberg, brother of Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, drew a large crowd when it debuted in 2018, with over 1,000 people lining up to see the famous siblings.
