Calling for backup

Sebastian realizes that something is wrong when the door is shoved in his face. No longer concerned about maintaining his good reputation with the bureau, he does this anyhow. He calls for backup to come and search the house since he’s willing to take a risk.

Checking the girls room

A few minutes later, he and ten other officers break into the home and handcuff the person who had initially opened the door. Sebastian goes straight upstairs to the room where the girl was constantly waving from. He needs to be aware of what took transpired.

Why she was not waving that day

He can hardly believe what he sees as he opens the door. He can now see why she stopped waving at him on that particular day. But what had happened to the girl? Why did Sebastian have such a strong sense that something was wrong and would be revealed to be true?

Meet Sebastian

Sebastian has worked with the police department for nearly two decades. He is devoted to his work, well-liked by his coworkers, and respected by the townspeople. He’s been hailed as a hero by many, and his deeds have given him quite the rĂ©sumĂ©. He had no idea that he was going to add to that resume.

Not Much Danger

On the force, Sebastian has put a lot of effort. He has gone on risky jobs, but most of it is behind him now. He has too many obligations now that he is older. He isn’t as driven by ambition as he once was. Although he may have overcome the threat, he was still under its control.

His Family

Being a cop makes him very proud. Sebastian now has a wife and two children, all of whom he adores. Because he couldn’t bear the thought of leaving his children without a father, he left perilous tasks. Unfortunately, putting your life in danger no matter when or where it occurs comes with the territory of being a police officer.

Working with Rookies

Sebastian now works behind a desk after leaving his career as a street cop behind. He enjoys taking care of the paperwork. He also liked taking novices on rides so he could show them a few things. He had gotten to know most of the folks along the route that the newcomers would follow. Some would come to mean a lot to him.

The Local People

Some of the travelers on the routes would converse with him, and others would simply acknowledge seeing him. Many of them were benevolent business owners and, farther along the path, homeowners. With friendly Sebastian on the route, they didn’t mind the police patrolling the area because it made them feel safe.

The Big House

On one of the streets they traveled by, there was a larger house at the corner. Sebastian had no idea who the proprietors of just a few of the houses. He nearly believed it was abandoned because there was never anyone outside. However, there was one indication that someone was at home.

A Young Girl

Every day that Sebastian traveled the same route, he was driven past this house, and each day, a young child was waving to him from a window on the second level. The same girl every time. the same window each time. It was constant, and she never failed to appear when he was nearby.

Is She Okay?

Sebastian secretly wished he could meet her one day. After all, they frequently exchanged waves, and he was interested in her. He hoped that if he drove by, she might emerge from the house so he could get to know her and perhaps her parents as well. He checked on her to make sure she was doing okay. However, that would never occur.

Time for Investigation

Sebastian started to wonder after one day of following the same path and waving at the girl. He was tired of being in the dark. So he did what any decent police officer would do and began an inquiry. He had no idea that what he would discover would completely alter his life.

The Database

The police database was where Sebastian started. It has the solutions to almost all of their town’s problems. The house, the owners, the neighbors, the history, and anything else could all be looked up. It was expected that he would start here, and he was fortunate to have better access because he was a desk employee.

The Database

The Database

The Previous Owner

He discovered that the house was bought approximately 50 years ago after searching for the address in the database. The house was bequeathed to one of the owner’s children, a son, when she passed away 25 years prior. Nothing was mentioned about a young girl or her purpose for being there. Then what?

The Son

Sebastian once more searched the database for the son. He discovered his name and some fundamental facts, but nothing really useful. He was at a loss. Could the girl he saw waving in the window be the son’s daughter? Maybe she was someone else. Perhaps she resided there alone. Sebastian asked too many questions and received too few responses.

Off the Grid

He checked the man once more, but the results were the same. A simple internet search revealed that the man had no social media presence, had never requested anything from the government, and had never been in contact with the authorities. He was unplugged. But the girl’s mystery remained unsolved.

No Daughter

Sebastian searched the internet extensively but couldn’t discover any information indicating that this man had a daughter or even a child at all. She wasn’t registered anyplace, not even a school, if she was his child, according to the man. She was either his daughter or there was another explanation.

Something Criminal

Sebastian continued to hunt for solutions. He was unable to quit. He was now fascinated and worried at the same time. The girl might have committed a crime if she had not registered for school. If she wasn’t listed as his daughter, that may have been against the law. There were too many risky possibilities available.

Nothing Wrong

Sebastian didn’t know where to start looking for answers, which was unfortunate. He had no good reason to go inside the house or even to go ask questions. The individual was technically innocent of any wrongdoing. Sebastian was unable to provide evidence that she was enrolled, although she may have registered using an other name. She continued to wave at him every day, though, without fail.

No Probable Cause

Without any evidence, Sebastian was essentially left with little choice but to carry on with his daily activities. He was certain that the girl was okay as long as she was waving at him. As usual, he continued to ride rides with novices and waved at her. But then something occurred that he completely did not anticipate.

The Rookie Route

It had been an ordinary day. Sebastian chose the novice path. Sebastian was doing his best to help his rookie remain composed despite his nervousness about going on the route for the first time. In any case, it was just a test drive, and nothing ever happened on this particular route.

Familiar Faces

Sebastian saluted all the recognizable people he typically sees on this route as he peered out the window. He was in a really good mood because many people were out. When Sebastian detected something odd, this would alter when they passed the large mansion on the corner.

No One There

He looked up while searching the house for the window in hopes of spotting the girl, but she wasn’t there. Nobody could be seen there, as far as he could tell. Never had anything like this occurred. She was constantly present. each day. Never fails. He was going to discover out what was strange about the whole scenario.

A Car

He immediately observed that there was still a car in the driveway. There was probably someone home. The young girl wouldn’t, after all, take off on her own. She, and whoever could drive the automobile, were probably still inside the house. What therefore ought he to do? Make a doorbell call? Why did everything seem out of place?

So What?

Sebastian wouldn’t be so concerned if it weren’t for this circumstance. It wasn’t a major issue. There isn’t a girl waving at you from her window, then. She can be using the restroom, sleeping, or perhaps taking a stroll. Sebastian, however, was determined to take action since he knew in his heart that something was wrong.

Checking the House

He instructed the inexperienced officer to halt the car and wait while he went inside the residence to investigate. He just knew he had to; he didn’t feel the need to explain to the inexperienced why. He knew he would have to explain everything afterwards because this was absolutely against policy, but he didn’t care at the time. He required solutions.

Against Protocol

Sebastian rang the doorbell as he approached the entrance. Nobody responded. He rang the bell once more before making a forceful knock at the door. Finally, someone spoke out, but it wasn’t at all who he was expecting to see. Everything about it was incorrect, and he was now more than just dubious. It would turn out that his suspicions were correct.

An Odd Man

Sebastian had been able to obtain some images of the individual who was purported to be the owner of this property. The man who answered the door didn’t resemble him at all. He was dressed in a suit and gave Sebastian a fierce gaze. Sebastian was furious, but he wasn’t going away without explanations. He was going to be aware of the girl’s condition.

What to do next?

What to do next was unclear to Sebastian. Without specific evidence that someone was in danger, he knew he wouldn’t be able to persuade his superiors to pay attention. He didn’t have a warrant to search the house. He only had a hunch that something wasn’t right.

Additionally, it would take too long to wait for a warrant. Right there, Sebastian had to take rapid action. However, it was a risk. He might lose his job if he went against his rationale and made a decision. He hesitated for a brief while due to the concept alone. Was it worthwhile?

Calling for back-up

But he made up his mind before he could return to his car to drive away. He snatched the radio from the table, called for help from everyone he trusted in the vicinity. Although it wasn’t an official call, Sebastian was confident in the support of his other cops. Whatever the circumstances, they were entering that house.

Teaming up

Driving around the corner, Sebastian and the novice parked on a side street. To avoid raising suspicion or creating a commotion, they intended to meet the other cops there. Sebastian was concerned that he would be endangering the career of the rookie and setting a poor example for a new cop. He was astonished by the young officer’s response.

Trusting the rookie

The novice argued that he wanted to be a part of the strategy. He agreed to be the watchman to make sure nobody left the house while Sebastian briefed the other officers on the situation since he had faith in Sebastian’s judgment. They all gathered up and prepared to storm the house within fifteen minutes.

Leading the group

Some of Sebastian’s companions were apprehensive about breaking the law so flagrantly and breaking into the residence without a warrant. There was someone in need, and Sebastian vowed that help would not arrive in time. He was conscious that he was jeopardizing his employment and reputation. He took a big breath and began guiding the group ahead.

Getting nervous

At the end of the street, where they were still hidden from view of the house, the officers formed up. Everyone was on board with the proposal, but Sebastian was concerned that he might be overlooking some crucial information. However, there was no going back. They attacked the building and broke through the front entrance at his signal.

Arresting some men

The man in the suit who had earlier unlocked the door was the first person they saw. While the other cops dispersed to the other rooms, one of the officers placed him in handcuffs. One other person was present, a well-dressed male wearing expensive clothing. But there has been no evidence of the girl thus far.

Locating the girl

Sebastian hurried upstairs to see if he could find the girl’s room as the police questioned the men about what they had been doing. Finding her window wasn’t difficult for him because he knew which one it was. It unlocked when he turned the handle. He slowly opened the door.

As soon as Sebastian entered the room, he was shocked by what he saw. He needed a moment to gather his thoughts and relax. To make sure he was where he was supposed to be, he took another peek behind him. That explains why the girl wasn’t grinning and waving from her window.

Not a single speck of dirt

The space was empty. No indication that someone has lived there recently could be found. The only oddity was how spotlessly clean it was—Sebastian couldn’t discover a single particle of dust or dirt. Why had that happened? Sebastian frantically combed through the other rooms in quest of a hint.

Sebastian encountered the same situation in each room. With not even a painting on the wall, it was more vacant than a vacant house. His stomach churned at the sight of the empty rooms. Sebastian returned downstairs after becoming perplexed to see if the two men had revealed anything new regarding the female.
