The only drawback to Steven’s offer was that he would have to pay child support. It was unjust, he complained. Emily, on the other hand, indicated that as a single parent, she would require the additional funds to properly care for her three children. The courts finally responded after a long and drawn-out dispute.

A Much Needed Change
Fortunately, Emily prevailed in court. The family, on the other hand, found the time to be challenging and stressful. Emily decided that a change of scenery would help them adjust to life without Steven. The family relocated to the state of Colorado. The first several months in Colorado were challenging for Emily because she wasn’t used to being alone and it was difficult to care for a family on her alone. Tommy came into the picture at this point.
