The vet abruptly turned and hurried to his computer. He typed fast, scrutinizing the screen. Seconds later, he wavered on his feet, his face paler. Before Erica or Kayla could respond, he dropped unconscious on the floor. The room descended into mayhem, with nurses running in and Kayla and Erica standing still, stunned by the unexpected turn of events.
