Paul Lynde immediately rose to fame as a frequent guest star after making his on-screen debut as eccentric Uncle Arthur. However, devoted viewers will be aware that Lynde played a variety of roles on the sitcom in addition to Arthur. The actor made his Bewitched debut in the episode “Driving is the Only Way to Fly” as a jittery driving instructor, but he seems to have impressed the powers that be so much that he ended up getting a bigger role.
