The permafrost prevents the bodies from decomposing, therefore this village in the farthest north of the planet hasn’t buried a single person in the past 70 years. Longyearbyen has a death ban, and even polar bear corpses are transported further south. The sun doesn’t rise here for 4 months at a time, and very few individuals stay in the town for longer than 6 years. A creepy one to say the least…

1. Isla de las Muñecas (Island of the Dolls), Mexico
The startling island of the dolls is located south of Mexico City, between the canals of Xochimico. Numerous dolls are supposed to be haunted by the ghost of a little girl who perished on the island. Take a boat from Embarcadero Cuemanco to reach the isolated island, but make sure to travel during the daytime because the dolls are sufficiently unsettling then, never mind at night!
