After some time had passed, the Onslow Company made an effort to complete the work that Daniel and his companions had begun. In spite of the fact that the drilling had resulted in flooding, they discovered a mysterious tablet. It would be close to a century before anyone would be able to decipher the mysterious artifact through the use of remote-viewing technology. According to the interpretation of one professor, it stated that “Forty feet below, two million pounds lie buried.” Since that time, a number of investigators have sunk their drills to a depth of forty feet into the ground in the hopes of finding the treasure.

Oak Island has, over the course of its existence, served as the foundation for a number of wild conspiracy theories, many of which have succeeded in capturing people’s imaginations. Since the first treasure hunters were said to have begun exploring the island, some people have hypothesized that the jewels that belonged to Marie Antoinette could actually be the treasure that is being sought. Other outlandish hypotheses speculate that the island is home to manuscripts written by William Shakespeare and Francis Bacon, both of whom once lived on the island. Despite the fact that none of these hypotheses have been confirmed, many people continue to believe in them.
