Can’t Stand Your Dorm Food? Cook These Meals In Your Room!

Simple Omelette

Did you know you can microwave eggs? Yep, you sure can! There are tons of recipes online to guide you, but it’s really very simple. All you need is a mug, an egg, and a microwave. You can put vegetables or cheese inside too in order to make it even more delicious. The possibilities are really endless with the toppings you can put in your omelette; you can make it your own and walla, you have a delicious meal! First, you’ll need to microwave butter, then mix in your beaten eggs and your toppings, and just pop it in the microwave for about 90 seconds. Simple, nutritious, and delicious.

Build Your Own Quesadilla

Who said quesadillas have to be only a tortilla and cheese? Expand your horizons, add some pizzaz to that microwaved meal! Try a Margherita quesadilla by adding some tomato slices in with your cheese, or maybe you want to eat a meat and cheese quesadilla- in which case, add some slices of deli meat or microwaveable bacon in for your extra flavor and protein boost! You can never have too much cheese, though, so maybe just extra, extra cheese is all you need.

Spinach and cheese mashed potatoes

I know what you’re thinking: this doesn’t sound like something you’d be able to cook in a microwave. Well, I have good news for you- you absolutely can cook these in a microwave! There are a few ingredients necessary for this recipe, but don’t let that scare you, they’re all super cheap to buy! Basically, you need to microwave the potatoes for a few minutes until they’re soft, and then cut them into slices and add your other ingredients (milk, butter, spinach, salt, pepper, cheese) and smoosh them all together… otherwise known as “mashing”. You shouldn’t need to microwave anything else, as the heat from the potatoes will heat up the rest of the ingredients. Talk about being simple and delicious!
