He once hung out with the Funky Bunch and modeled undies. Later, he rose to prominence as one of the world’s top cinema stars. Mark Wahlberg has had anything but a normal career, however. He developed into a reliable performer along the road, displaying skills in both humor and action. He certainly contributed to Entourage, but nobody is flawless. Here are some of Mark Wahlberg’s most recognizable roles. As we usually point out, “best” doesn’t automatically equate to “most remembered…”

‘Fear’ (1996)

Wahlberg had appeared in a few films prior to this and was undoubtedly a familiar face, but Fear was his opportunity to make a name for himself as an actor. In this twisted psychological thriller, which also starred a teenage Reese Witherspoon, he accomplished precisely that. The way we view rollercoasters has never been the same since.

‘Boogie Nights’ (1997)

Wahlberg, who has recently become quite religious, has expressed his distaste with Boogie Nights. This is a whirling, bravura film from Paul Thomas Anderson, and we feel no such remorse. This movie, which related to the adult cinema industry but is more of a searing drama about the lives of the people involved, is led by Wahlberg and a fantastic ensemble.
