Suri has probably not seen Tom in years, but he’s not the only one. Despite spending a lot of time with Katie’s family, it’s likely that she hasn’t seen Cruise’s side of the family due to her apparent separation from him. This includes the two children he adopted during his marriage to Nicole Kidman, Isabella and Connor Cruise. It seems doubtful that the siblings would wish to encounter their half-sister, Suri, given the allegations that the Church of Scientology sees her as a “Suppressive Person.” Given that they are both purportedly committed to the faith, it makes sense that they wouldn’t want to associate with people who are essentially considered traitors. Suri is family, but the needs of Scientology appear to take precedence.

Of course, Cruise vehemently rejects the idea that Scientology had anything to do with Suri losing part of her family. He hasn’t spoken much about his seeming distance from his daughter, but he has already refuted claims that the church caused their tense relationship. Tom claims that work, not his faith, is the constant source of his problems. There was “no need to protect my daughter from my religion,” implying that the church was blameless in all of this. Tom allegedly expressed frustration to a lawyer during his defamation action against Bauer Media when the counsel inquired about Katie’s need to “protect Suri from Scientology.” Sadly, it doesn’t appear that
everyone agrees with him.
