In 2004, David Spade joined the cast of 8 Simple Rules. He portrayed C.J., who is Cate Hennessy’s nephew. He always got into trouble and gave his cousins bad advice. The character got up to a lot of trouble on the show. It is difficult to tell if fans did not like the actor or the character. Even though he deviated from the typical sitcom format, the novelty did not last a long time.

Sherloque Wells proved to be such a polarizing character that fans began a “Sherloque hate post.” He was the doppelganger of Harrison on the show.
