According to the AV Club, this storyline was “the worst thing” to ever happen on Gilmore Girls. Luke and Lorelai broke up over her, but she was actually his daughter! Vanessa Marano, the actress who played her, said that she did not like the character since it broke the couple up. Even though she was upset, she kept playing the role since she knew it could help her career. According to her, it was important for her not to “care” that the show’s fans hated her.

You might say that the fault is with Nellie Bertram since she ruined his life, but he was undeniably unlikable in the ninth season. He left Erin after chasing her in Florida and getting fired for it. He then went on a boat trip and abandoned the whole team to be an actor-singer even though he was horrible at it…
