Cats are fantastic creatures that, at all times, are made of surprises. Musya, for one, shocked not only her trainer but also an entire team of veterinarians. She surprised them all when she was found breastfeeding her babies. The cat was the beloved resident cat of the Sadgorod Zoo. She was about a year old, and she was still an unusual cat. However, she fell pregnant all of a sudden. Everyone in the region needed to ensure she felt healthy before giving birth!

Even though she waddled around the zoo, she was never alone. The workers could not help but feel nervous when they learned that Musya was missing. Among the animals that could be seen at the zoo were geese, ducks, and raccoons. Besides those, there were also lions, monkeys, bears, tigers, and others… The cat could be put at risk by bigger animals! This was the reason why a hunt was launched for the missing feline.

Musya was a bit different from the other animals in the zoo. She became their resident by mistake! A zookeeper named Alice noticed her while on the job. She saw a black object moving in the snow on a cold day in the winter. It was obvious that it wasn’t just a dirt mound here. The little black kitty was almost frozen! There were hedgehogs in her nose, and she hardly moved. At the zoo, she was taken to the vets by Alice.

Alice put the cat in her jacket and immediately searched for vets. The professionals did everything in their capacity in order to keep the kitty alive. There was nothing else to do but wait and see. They were stunned but glad that they had made it through the night with the cat. As the days went by, she started gaining power. They took her to the staff room to ensure that she had all the love and care she wanted to give her.

The entire petting zoo staff loved Musya. They were delighted to see her get strong and run around the room the whole day. Yet, for her, the zoo was not the right place, they realized. Cats are eager for their world to be discovered, and she had to look out the window. She saw wild animals on the other side! She took it as her chance to sneak out when the zookeepers left the door open inadvertently!

Alice would take Musya on short walks, but the cat was always kept on a leash. She was afraid that the feline would crash into one of the enclosures. For almost a year, they managed to keep doing this. However, everybody fell into a panic when she got out of the room on her own. They looked for Musya for two days. Alice sought out various enclosures, hoping all the while that the cat had not yet met her fate.

In the zoo, all the people were hoping that the cat was doing alright. They knew just how dangerous the situation could be for a cat. The others had warned Alice that Musya might never return. Despite this, she held onto hope. She soon found out that it is always safe to have confidence!

Musya finally returned home after two days. She alerted the employees of her presence by pawing at the door. Alice let out a cry of relief after seeing that the cat was safe and sound. She started wondering if it was time to look for the cat’s home. It was too hard to say goodbye, though, so Musya ended up staying there!

A few weeks after her return, they started seeing a change in Musya. They found it disturbing that she had been so cranky and lethargic. Before she left the room, she was still playful and sweet. Suddenly, the cat did not even want to go outside the room when the door was opened. What was going on?

It looked like there was a brand new cat that came back. As she walked out of the room, she would simply lie down on the floor. They were conscious that something was wrong. Alice noticed the difference in her behavior right away, but she had no idea what was happening. It felt as if Musya was ‘broken.’ She suddenly lost all interest in the outside world. At the moment, everyone was at a loss. They were taken by surprise by the real explanation!

Alice came back for a cup of tea in the staff lounge one day. She wanted to cuddle, as usual, with Musya. To her dismay, she could not locate the animal anywhere inside. She went missing once more! It was much worse this time because the weather was bad. Not only did she hear the storm, but she also heard thunder.

By then, the whole staff already understood that they had to search for Musya. They had to get her back as soon as possible! They picked up their flashlights and set out to follow them. The zookeepers went to every single location imaginable and held an ear out for meows. She had to be there somewhere…

Outside the zoo’s grounds, there were also cars and parking areas. It did not sound likely that Musya might have gone somewhere else. Alice thought that she had definitely been to the zoo. All of a sudden, she heard something. There was a wooden field past the lion’s enclosure. The cry seemed to have come from a bush there. With her flashlight, Alice pointed at the spot. To her relief, she saw the cat over there!

In the bush, Musya was sitting quietly. The fact that she was not alone was the most shocking part! There was something that was creeping on her chest. After taking a closer look, she was shocked by what she saw. She found four kittens there with her! It turns out, however, that there was still the greatest surprise to come.

Needless to say, all of them were shocked by the sight of the kittens. What made them gasp, though, was that there was something else slipping into her chest. They were unable to keep their surprise at bay when they saw the baby hedgehogs there. There was no way that they actually could have left them in that place.

One of them came back and took a blanket and a box to the house. They will get all the animals out of harm’s way this way. Alice picked the animals up one by one and put them in the container. The plan was to get them all taken to the vet. As you can imagine, they had a lot of questions at that moment.

She took Musya to the vet along with her babies. The vet frowned a little after taking a look at them and then let out a burst of laughter. He said, “I’ve never seen anything like this.” He then started to take a look at the animals. After separating the kittens and the hedgehogs, he left the room to discuss it with Alice.

But as soon as Musya was alone with the babies, she undid his hard work. Out of one cage, she took the kittens, then moved them all to the one with the hedgehogs! The mama cat relaxed with all of them, allowing the babies to drink their milk and stay close to the sun. Alice went back to this lovely sight.

It was clear that Musya wanted to mother the eight hedgehog babies. Though she was fascinated, Alice did not think it was a good idea. The kittens could get hurt by the pricks of their siblings from another species, after all. She broke them up again, but the hedgehogs resisted attempting to feed them in the bottle.

Although Alice realized that it was not a good idea to hold the animals together, Musya decided to take care of all the babies. Not long after this, Alice ultimately discovered where the hedgehogs came from. Perhaps their mom had an accident inside the zoo. She remembered a specific instance that involved a lawnmower.

The hedgehogs must have been on their own for a couple of days before they were seen by Musya. The babies were possibly starving before the cat took them in as her own offspring. No one knows why she was doing this before or after giving birth to the kittens. For this peculiar little family, what was next?

A call was received from the fire department calling for animal rescue assistance. They sent out a team quickly because they realized that the faster they got there, the better they could save the poor animals. What they did not suspect was that they were about to witness a rare experience.

Among the firefighters, there was confusion about why the mother was not with her children. In the first place, being there was completely illogical for the babies. It would have made more sense if they were in the wild, but that has not been the case.

The sewer was filthy and often overflowing with garbage, and it was heart-wrenching to see the animals freezing without access to food. It was a blessing that the animals were still alive! The team was unsure if it was going to be safe for the animals, but the least they could do was try.
