He was just browsing YouTube when he started to watch video after video of people making absurd claims and fell a little bit down an alien conspiracy rabbit hole.

The young man was stopped dead in his tracks by one of these videos, but not for the reason you might expect. It originated from a “news” program in Australia that was covering the case of a man who claimed to have been abducted by aliens and had spent almost three years on their planet.

Maliek, however, paid no attention to what the man was saying at all. Since he was certain that the man he was seeing was his long-lost father, Andrew, all he cared about was the individual. He wasted no time in showing his mother Amanda the video, who was astounded by what she saw.

There was no denying it; she was equally as dumbfounded as her son. That man was her spouse! But why in the world was he in Australia after all these years, and why was he making up such a ridiculous tale? Why hadn’t he even tried to get in touch with them?

Amanda was filled with concerns and knew that the only way to get answers was to confront her husband. Sooner rather than later, she had to get in touch with Andrew. But it turned out to be a little trickier than she had anticipated.

She made an effort to contact Andrew using all of the means of communication she had with him three years prior. Phone, email, social media, etc. But he made no comment anywhere. She then made the decision to contact the YouTube channel that had posted the video because surely they would have more information.

But once again, Amanda was left empty-handed. They claimed that Andrew had unexpectedly approached them on the street with the tale and that they had no way to get in touch with him. Their only knowledge of him was his name and the location of their meeting. There was no progress here.

That place was the only tip Amanda had, so she followed it. Amanda knew she had to fly out there and look for her husband on her own, no matter how absurd it sounded, if she wanted any chance of getting answers. The reporter had interviewed Andrew somewhere in Sydney.

Maliek had been searching for more recent videos that might include his father’s story in the meantime, and he had found a few of them as well as some news articles that described how bizarre it was. Andrew was obviously very eager to talk about his experience with various news outlets.

In the end, Amanda purchased airline tickets for a two-day trip to Sydney. She planned with her mother to have her watch the children while she was gone, and she took two weeks off work to search for her husband in Sydney.

She had every confidence that she would come across Andrew in the same location where the reporter had first encountered him. By this time, Maliek had also gotten in touch with every other publisher of Andrews’s book, and each of them related a strikingly similar account of their encounter with him.

Even though Amanda had read all the interviews, she was still completely perplexed by the tale. She had never before overheard her husband share tales of aliens. Typically, he had no interest in things like that. He was far too sober and matter-of-fact for odd tales like this one.

Meanwhile, Amanda had set up a meeting with the reporter who had first reported on Andrew’s story. She wanted to know how her husband was doing at the time and what he thought about the whole thing when he first heard about it from him.

The reporter explained that he had heard many crazy stories in his time and that 95% of what he posted online was not true. But many people did, and this kept the lights on. But Andrew’s story was a little different. Mostly because he saw how much Andrew believed it.

Amanda was surprised to learn that the reporter believed Andrew was telling the truth. She had assumed it was an act, but she could be wrong… The only thing she knew for certain was that she needed to find him.

She was surprised, but also relieved, to hear who was speaking on the other end of the phone call. It was the reporter she had spoken with only a few days before! He needed to know something or he wouldn’t call her. Will he tell her where she can find Andrew?

Wow, he’s not wasting any time, she observed. He had, in fact, spoken to his colleagues, and Andrew had reached out to one of them. They scheduled a meeting to discuss the situation and possibly conduct another interview. Amanda reflected on her husband. He’d already done so many interviews!

She couldn’t help but think the whole thing was strange. Her husband, as she knew him, did not enjoy being the center of attention. He despised speaking in front of an audience or in front of a camera. But he now seemed eager to conduct as many interviews as possible.

But the reporter had more breaking news for her. His coworker felt sorry for Amanda and could only imagine what she had gone through, so he wanted to assist her. He gave the reporter the location of their meeting and requested that he forward it to Amanda! She couldn’t believe her eyes…

This was completely unexpected! She’d given the reporter her phone number in case he heard anything new about Andrew, but she hadn’t expected to hear from him so soon, especially with such shocking news. It was far superior to her original expectations!

She jotted down the reporter’s address and time on a scrap of paper. “I really appreciate it! “I still can’t believe it,” she admitted. She then hung up the phone and prepared for the day. After all, it was going to be something special.

She dressed and prepared herself before looking up the address online. She still had a couple of hours before the meeting, but she decided to arrive early anyway. She could then take a look around the place. It was always a good idea to be ready!
